Recycling Near You

Even though not all councils are able to provide curbside recycling, there are still plenty of recycling opportunities available to you in your town. Visit the RecyclingNearYou.com.au website to find out what and where you can recycle.

Recycling Tips

  • Don’t bag it – recycling in a plastic bag poses a risk to employees sorting rubbish (they don’t know what is in there) and your plastic won’t get recycled
  • Empty and clean containers – to reduce contamination
  • Remove any lids – this allows the plastic bottles to be squashed for transport to the recycling facility
  • Check the recycling number – to make sure that it can be recycled

  1. Is it possible for St Francis Xavier to have a blue bin on the school site? Students very interested in being involved in reducing our waste.

    1. Hi Ben,

NACC is in the process of putting together a grant application to extend the recycling program in Geraldton, it would be great to have you school involved. NACC’s Sustainability Coordinator will be in touch.

  2. Hello,

Rip out used to give us a bin but took it away recently due to his business.
But the whole school has been recycling plastic, paper and cardboard.
Can you please call me to discuss options. Or email.

    1. Hello,
We are currently looking into options to resource additional community plastic recycling bins around Geraldton. However, in the interim you are welcome to take any clean plastic bottles (lids removed) to one of the existing community bins. See https://www.narvis.com.au/recycle/ for all the current locations.

MEEDAC also offer a paid plastic recycling option, where you pay each time the bin is collected. If you are interested in this option please get in contact with Milton Milloy at the Geraldton Office.
